A Tubeaxial Flow Fan is a high-efficiency axial-type industrial fan designed to move large volumes of air through a cylindrical housing. The fan consists of an axial impeller mounted inside a tube-shaped casing, allowing air to flow parallel to the fan shaft. Tubeaxial fans deliver strong airflow with moderate static pressure, making them ideal for ventilation, exhaust, cooling, and air-circulation in industrial and commercial applications.

These fans are compact, lightweight, and efficient, offering reliable performance in environments where space is limited but powerful airflow is required.

⭐ Key Features ✔ Tubular Housing Design

The aerodynamic cylindrical casing ensures smooth airflow with minimal resistance and noise.

✔ High-Volume Air Movement

Suitable for moving large airflow at medium pressure, ideal for ventilation and general exhaust.

✔ Axial Impeller Construction

Heavy-duty blades (aluminum/plastic/FRP/steel) provide efficient air delivery and balanced, vibration-free performance.

✔ Direct or Belt Drive Options
  • Direct-drive for compact, low-maintenance installations

  • Belt-drive for adjustable speed and higher pressure needs

✔ Mounting Flexibility

Can be installed inline with ductwork for supply or exhaust air, or mounted on walls for general room ventilation.

✅ What is a Double-Skin (Dual-Skin) AHU
  • A dual-skin AHU uses two layers (skins) for the casing: an inner sheet and an outer sheet, with a layer of insulation between them (commonly PUF / PIR / mineral wool or similar).

  • Panel thickness is often 25 mm, 50 mm, etc., depending on the insulation requirement.

  • The structure is typically built on a rigid frame (e.g. extruded aluminium or galvanized steel base frame) for strength and durability.

Essentially — instead of a simple single-sheet metal casing, dual-skin AHUs sandwich insulation between two skins to provide much better thermal, acoustic, and structural performance.

🎯 What Makes Double-Skin AHUs a “Disruption” (Advantages over conventional AHUs)

Using a dual-skin AHU gives several important benefits over traditional / single-skin AHUs:

  • Thermal Insulation & Energy Efficiency: The insulated double-wall prevents unwanted heat gain/loss, reduces thermal bridging, and helps maintain stable supply-air temperature and humidity — reducing the load on chillers or heaters.

  • Noise Reduction & Vibration Dampening: The insulation between skins acts as a sound-absorbing barrier. This reduces fan noise, airflow noise, and mechanical vibration noise — important for comfort in offices, hospitals, hotels, etc.

  • Reduced Air Leakage & Better Sealing: The double-skin modular design with tight panel joints reduces leakage; ensuring designed air-flows, better pressure control, and improved energy efficiency.

  • Structural Strength & Durability: The dual panels and insulated core give more rigidity and robustness — making the unit suitable for rooftop installations, large-volume HVAC systems, or industrial conditions.

  • Better Air Quality & Hygiene (for sensitive applications): Because of better sealing and design, double-skin AHUs can incorporate advanced filtration (pre-filters, fine filters, HEPA, etc.), coils (chilled water / DX), humidification/dehumidification, and other HVAC components — making them apt for hospitals, pharma, labs, cleanrooms, etc.

  • Flexibility & Customization: These units are often modular, so they can be custom-designed for airflow capacity (CFM/m³/h), static pressure, fan type (forward/backward-curved, plug fans, EC fans), filtration levels, coil type, and more — making them suitable across building types from offices to industrial facilities.

In short — dual-skin AHUs combine energy efficiency, comfort, air quality, and robustness, making them a significant step up from older/simpler AHUs.

🏭 Where Dual-Skin AHUs Shine (Applications)

Because of these advantages, dual-skin AHUs are especially useful in:

  • Commercial buildings: offices, malls, hotels, multiplexes — where comfort, noise control, and energy efficiency matter.

  • Healthcare, hospitals, labs, cleanrooms — where air-quality, hygiene, filtration (HEPA), and consistent environmental control is vital.

  • Industrial, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, electronics manufacturing — where air conditioning, dust control, temperature/humidity stability, and robust construction are needed.

  • Large-scale HVAC systems: buildings needing high air-volumes (thousands to tens of thousands of CFM), or rooftop/rooftop-mounted AHUs.

    • VentCart High Static Inline Duct Fan — an inline type duct fan that works well for HVAC/ventilation ducts, helpful if your AHU ducts are long or static pressure is moderately high.

    • Generic AHU Blower Fan — a more generic blower/fan for AHU use — may suit small-to-medium AHUs or retrofits.

    • Industrial Centrifugal Fan (HVAC / AHU) — a heavy-duty centrifugal fan that could handle higher static pressure or larger air-volume requirements typical in commercial/industrial AHUs.

    • Divinext 6” Panel Axial Cooling Fan — a small axial fan suited for minor ventilation, exhaust, or small-scale air-circulation tasks. Might work for small AHUs or supplementary ventilation.

    • Starvin Cabin Ceiling Fan (Basic Cooling Fan) — a simple basic fan; not ideal for full AHU duty but could be used for small-scale air movement or supplementary cooling in small rooms/spaces.

⚙️ What Kind of Fan Should an AHU Have — and Why
    • AHUs usually use centrifugal fans (forward- or backward-curved / airfoil / radial) or plug-fans / plenum fans inside the unit. These fans are chosen based on the airflow needed (volume, CFM) and static pressure in the ducts/filters/coils.

    • Backward-curved centrifugal fans are common in AHUs because they offer good pressure generation, efficiency, relatively low noise, and can handle duct resistance, filters, coils etc.

    • Alternatively, plug-fans (direct-drive inside AHU housing) or EC-motor fans are increasingly used because they are more compact, energy-efficient, and easier to control (especially if you want variable airflow) than belt-driven fans
